Mark & Clare Miscellany 2013

Another lesson

Welcome back from the summer break. We didn't finish our work last term. Draw a map of France and label the train line to the Alps, then quickly draw a route around the wine growing regions of France for you and four friends. Don't spend too long though, you only have four days!

Ah Miss Hobbs, so pleased to see you, we were just drawing maps. America! Sure, we can draw maps of America. To include a train ride through the Rockies and an impromptu road trip to the Grand Canyon. Of course! Anything else? Barcelona as well, and a caption? Did you hear that class? Yes, "Conferences".

Okay class, now that's done we have a few important announcements to make. Firstly, Miss Hobbs and I have had a very special time over the break and it was lovely to see so many of you at our special Brancepeth Castle assembly. And the following week in Northumbria was amazing, thank you for asking.

Secondly, you may have noticed a few changes around in the classroom: it is now called Stratford-upon-Avon and there are no girls---I think you will all agree that this is a better place to be. Please get started on the Physics worksheet while Mrs Perryman and I pop out of the room for five days. How often will you have to do this? Every fortnight. Why? What a lot of questions. How else will Clare see her PhD supervisor!

Christmas already! And we didn't even have time to calculate the total mileage since getting the car (from Parent Autos) in July.

So, what have we learned? Marriage is a steep learning curve, and worth every minute. No one can navigate a French roundabout first time: always go round at least once. And our Families and Friends are amazing, thanks to them all.
