Learnings

During the last year, I have learnt many things. These include:

• Four boys and one house do not mix terribly well.
• It is possible to last one month without food shopping.
• Getting paid to have a free lunch (accompanying prospective students on open days) is the best job to have.
• The Oriental game of Go is very addictive.
• When booking mini-buses for weekends away (for Christian Focus society) always check minimum age of driver – last minute trains can get quite expensive.
• However well you might do in your exams (78%), there is always someone who does better (~89%) – they might well be your housemate.
• 12 hours of continuous Lord of the Rings is enough to last a lifetime.
• The Gorges du Verdon are one of the most beautiful places around.
• While carrying skis (and other luggage) across Paris, do not take a wrong turning and end up where you started after walking for 45 minutes.
• Night trains are definitely the way to travel.

Oh, and War and Peace is a great book. Merry Christmas.
